Joffrey Lupul to join the New York Rangers for training camp
Joffre Lupul will join the Rangers training camp, head coach Alain Vigneault announced on Friday.
Lupul, a right wing, signed a one-year, $2.25 million contract in February to join New York’s roster.
He’s spent the last two seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Rangers also re-signed defenseman Alexei Kovalev and goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury to try to get a veteran to step up.
Fleury is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, and Kovalevi, who has made five career NHL starts, is set for a contract extension.
Veteran defenseman Alexey Marchenko also was signed by the Rangers.
